Eason Woodworks was born of the creative impulses of our founder, Derek Eason. A third-generation craftsman, Derek grew up around tools and learned woodworking from his father, starting off building boxes and birdhouses as a child. Eventually, Derek needed furniture for himself. Finding that most of the furniture on the market today is built from cheap particleboard and wrapped in thin veneers, he decided to dust off the woodworking skills he learned growing up. As he built, he graduated to bigger and bigger projects, including bookcases, record consoles, custom cabinetry, benches - and, of course, tables.

We chose to build our business around dining tables for three reasons:

First, the dining table is where families gather not just to eat together, but to do life together. From sharing meals, to sharing the experiences and events of the day, to helping the kids with homework - the dining table is, in many ways, the center of the home.

Second, a dining table is a focal point of many homes. It is a statement piece, and as such should be of high quality.

And third, we believe a dining table should be an heirloom that can be passed down for generations. This quality is only possible with solid wood furniture, not mass-produced particleboard.
